The effect of chemosterilant Hexamethylphosphoramide (HEMPA) on developing oocyte follicles in the fruit piercing moth Eudocima materna were studied. In line with the wide and broad application of HMPA, we designed a Ru(bpy)32+ ECL sensor for sensitive and selective detection of a phosphoramide, HMPA, for the first time. Importantly, the developed sensor was utilized for the detection of HMPA in lake water and waste water samples with high %recovery (98.0–102.5%).

Hexamethylphosphoramide is considered a reliable ionizing solvent for superbases. Semicarbazide was used as a stabilizing agent for HCy whereas ifosfamide, hexamethyl phosphoramide mustard and deuterated CEPM were the internal standards for quantification of Cy, HCy and CEPM respectively.
